Default Outlaw 110 starter wiring

I have a 2016 Outlaw in with problems due to a flat battery, what I can't weigh up is the feeble size of both the main earth, and the main live wire to solenoid. I'm not sure if someone has been altering things. My question is, are the standard battery wires really as thin as that? With a headlamp that comes on with ignition and overly thin wires, the regulator does not stand much of a chance to send enough juice to keep the battery topped up. I am getting 13.9v charge with a fairly flat battery so I don't think the alternator or regulator are faulty.

I have put an extra, thick wire from battery neg to engine crankcase. Also a switch on headlamp wires so you can turn them off. Charge voltage has increased slightly. Tempted to fit a thick wire from battery pos to solenoid but we will "see how we go" first. Fitting the solenoid right at the front with a long weedy wire to it is downright stupid. Starter motor wires should be as short and thick as possible. Black mark to Aeon for making it like that, and to Polaris for not making them alter it.
