Should the cover of an auto trans/belt
be hot to the touch? Mine is past warm with
hill use. Not hot enough to burn your hand,
but very warm. Is that normal?
Magnum 425, 1998, Polaris
Should I be worried about a chatter type sound when decelerating or going down
hill. Not real loud or annoying, but it
just does not sound right. Is it normal
with a belt drive auto trans?

I had a similar problem with my SP500. Both the heat and noise problems that you are having is because your PVT cover has been steppen on-most possibly by a small child attemting to mount on the seat. If your are lucky enough you can bend the cover back to normal with a low-heat torch. If there is damage on the cover, it is best that you get a new one, around $50. Good Luck!

Thank you. I had seen previous warnings
about not stepping on the cover...
I have had this quad for a month now.
I think it had good care, but stepping on
that cover is easy to do. I know I have
avoided it but who knows what happened before
I bought it. Thanks again.
