On my 01 500HO, in Hi gear, as I start to move, I feel a thump or clunk. It happens every time I start off and it only clunks once. After it clunks, it proceeds normally. This just started this week. The bike is 6 months old and has 400 miles on it. It also does it in Lo range but not as intense. Any ideas what this could be?

 

First thing i would check would be the universals on the drive shafts( front and rear), sounds like you could have a bad one. If thats not the probelm then take it into the dealer to have it checked out, as it could be something internal in the tranny .
