I found a deal on a 98 Polaris 400 sport. I've always wanted a magnum, but this is a pretty good deal. Big difference in the two, the 400 is a 2 stroke, the magnum is 4. I can live with that. I want a "cruiser". Something for the wife and the kids. Am I being realistic in saying I can add some racks and be close? If someone has done this and wants to send me a picture of what it looks like, that would be awsome. If someone knows of the details (ie: racks available, approximate cost, etc..), that would also be great. Thanks in advance. mmaso@flash.net

I think the racks are about 180 bucks for the pair. I do not know how the sport rides but my wifes Scrambler rides rough. I am spoiled by the ride of my sportsman and my son (age 3) will not even ride on the scrambler because of the ride. I am thinking of trading the scrambler off for another sportsman in the spring because my daughter is getting old enough to start riding with us. My suggestion is to get what you want and not what is a good deal.

MY UNCLE HAS A (HAD, IT GOT STOLEN FRIDAY NIGHT) A TRAIL BLAZER, WHICH HAS THE SAME BODY AND HE USED MADE A REAR RACK FOR IT. HE USED THE FRONT RACK OFF OF MY 300 EXPLORER. HE IS PRETTY HANDY AND WELDED ALL THE NEEDED MOUNTS HIMSLF. IT MADE FOR NO ACCESS TO REMOVING THE SEAT, BUT IT LOOKED GOOD AND SERVED THE PURPOSE OF A RACK. ALSO, IN THE POLARIS ACCESORIES CATALOG THEY SHOW A SMALL RACK FOR THE REAR(TO CARRY GASS CAN) AND SHOW A LARGER ONE FOR THE FRONT. IN MY OPINION I LIKED THE RACK FROM THE EXPLOERE...IT LOOKED BETTER TO ME.

Let me just say, That we put the front and rear racks on our Scrambler. The rear is the "large" one. (there are/were two different rears offered) The rear rack is really useful and I love it.. the front one is totally and completely useless.... it had been on there for over a year and I NEVER put anything on it except for alot of mud..
It got bent several times, and just about two weeks ago, I took it off. The thing looks better without it..
