Boner, the reason I say that is recently we drag raced a '97 Xplorer 500 with a '97 Sportsman 500 and a '99 Sportsman 500. The rider on the Xplorer was much heavier than me on the '97 Sportsman and the rider on the '99 Sportsman (with EBS). The Xplorer wasted both of us, off the line and never fell behind, gained on us the whole way. I think it has something to do with the slightly smaller tires. They might be the same claimed size as the Sportsman, but the lugs on the back of the Sportsmans make them actually a taller tire. I beat the '99 Sportsman, but only by a hair. I also have a friend with a '97 Xplorer 500, and when I'm riding our '97 Sportsman with him, I have a job keeping up with him. Xplorer 500's acceleration is faster.

The first 4 stroke Polaris made was the '95 Polaris Magnum 4x4.
