What do you all think of the idea of polaris coming out with a 500 Scrambler 2wd. I heard about it friday. Do you think it can be a contender? Is it something that they should have done? Have they gone far enough? (not) I think it will be a pretty interesting machine, however I like some others (I'm sure)feel that they're still going to fall short of the mark if the mark is taking on the Banshee or the 400ex. Oh well, it does seem to round out the Scrambler line if nothing else!

I guess we have all been waiting to see how Polaris was going to respond, or if they will respond. I do have a feeling that the reason they made the sport a 2x4 scrambler was to come out with a new sport?? However I just dont have faith or they have not shown that they are interested in a true sport ride. Lets face it with the Sc. line up plenty of us have shown what they can be very fast and competative rides of with the mods some of us have done. Yet they have sat back for going on six years now with simple graphics changes and slight suspension upgrades, we did get the 500HO. For the most part say 95% of me says they will not come out with a better sport. Yet there is still 5% saying maybe after all they are so completative in the snowmobile class I dont know if they will let this one go by without some sort of responce. How good it is still to be determinted.

If they dont lighten up the frame and give it a better suspension, they might as well stick with the awesone SCramblers.

I hope they do more than take away the 4wd parts and add the sport hood, but even if that's all they do, they will still sell a lot. Lots a recreational riders want a big 4-stroke with electric start and reverse. It doesn't handle or jump like a dream, but it still does pretty good at both. It's not for the track though.

As far as dropping the Sport and replacing it with the Scrambler 2x4 so they can make a new Sport, I think it sounds logical except that the Scrambler 2x4 is just a Sport with different graphics & color, and the updates they all got for '00. I light-weight 400 would be awesome though.
