400L Sport motor on a Honda frame??? Stage one of Polaris Project Race Quad!!!

I though I saw where Ritter Racing offered a service where they took the 400L top end (piston, heads etc) & retrofitted it to the 250R. That would be the cheapest route probably. You would loose the auto tranny but this is probably also the lightest route. Good luck & keep us posted.

ttaylor,, I'll probably put the frame up on Ebay or something. It will probably be complete frame, a arms, shocks, ect. The only thing I'll probably need is the motor, tranny, and radiator. I still haven't got the frame yet, so I haven't started to plan things out yet. I went to the guys house yesterday, and no one was at home.
Jim,, Your right about the 400 jug on the 250r. The shop that I order parts from told me about doing this. They machined the 400 to fit the 250r, and said it was the wickedest thing he ever rode. But I've got some $$$ tied up in my clutches and stuff. Plus I'm spoiled with the auto tranny now.
By the way, if any of you were able to build a complete race quad, what would be some of the features you would want on it to improve the race ability of the quad. (ext. a arms, ?" tires, ect.ect.) I'm open to suggestions

Maybe a pipe, air filter, outerwear, tires, rims, and jet kit to start with. Then extended a-arms, swingarm, and take out the electric start to make it even lighter. You can just use the recoil. Good luck. Let us know how you do.
