The SHO may have had more HP then the 302 Mustang, but it didn't have as much torgue. The difference between "faster" and "quicker". Personally, I get more of a rush from acceleration then from "pedal to the metal" top speed. To me it isn't as important how fast you can go, as it is, how quickly can you get there! PS. It doesn't matter to me what anyone rides as long as they say "yes" when I ask them to go riding, and they enjoy it as much as I do!

Well I guess I also should have thrown in that it could also "womp" the Mustang GT's of various years (80's through early 90's) in the 1/4 mile as well. I know a 1994 GT 5.0 for sure from experience. Unfortunatly the new Stangs (much like the classic ones) are out of it's league . That's okay though. Take care.

Josh,
You may be right about the 1/4 numbers. I don't know right off what they were for the HO 302, and the SHO taurus. However, I have ridden in both, and the 'Stang definately had more "eyeball flattening" acceleration off the line or in a low rpm roll on then the SHO. Once you got the SHO wound up though, it had some real authority!
