#1
hey,
i have a 2000 trailboss 325, and i lost the manual does anyone know how to change or refill, or whatever you have to do with the gearcase oil? i looked all over the bottom and i cant find any drain bolt. Does it have anything to do with that yellow plastic ring thing sticking out of the side?

Your first step would be to stop at the dealer and order a new manual . As for the gearcase, the yellow ring your are referring to is the dipstick. You should first remove this. Second, crawl under the quad and on the PVT side you will see a long bolt sticking out. It should have a lock nut on it as well. Loosen the locking nut and then turn the outside nut in as far as it will go. Then remove the drain plug. I know this sounds complicated, but will make more sense once you crawl under the machine. Once it drains out, replace the nut and tighten the locking nut system and refill with Chaincase lube. BTW, if you download the Polaris Parts manual, it will help you visualize what you are looking for. Hope this helps.

The plug is on the left side and is a large hex shaped plug that has a bolt and locknut sticking out of it that butts up against the frame. It doubles as the torque stop for the transmission. Loosen the locknut and screw in the bolt as far in as possible and that should give you enough room to remove the plug. When you replace it turn the bolt out till it touches the frame then a half turn more and tighten the locknut.
