When I put my '01 500 ho in gear it starts to creep forward or backwards, depending on the selection. It is about five months out of warranty. After speaking with my dealer he stated it needed a new drive clutch and they would cover it. I have also been reading about the problems some have been having with the warranty on the belts. Whenever I need a new belt I phone my dealer and he overnights me one at no charge. Anybody else having this creeping problem?

I had the problem on my 2000 xplorer 400 4x4. It has a hot seat performance clutch kit. I removed the rear secondary clutch and there is a spacer. I took that spacer to the hardware store and bought 3 machine washers identical to the one i took off. I ended up added 2 washers to it and no more clutch creep. I believe the washers were around 20 cents a piece. It's an easy fix.

It sounds like they are not aligning correctly. Or am I thinking wrong?
Thanks

Pn# 7556401 fixed this on mine. The belt was riding on the inner sheave of the drive clutch causing the creep. I needed two washers to align my clutch. Cost $2.00.

Good luck

You may want to check your clutch spring. When I broke on on my scrambler, it would creep. $20 fix.
