i am going to purchase some new tires and i have a stock 500 sp and i do not want to add a lift kit, i would like to go up to a 26" tire that does not take 27" biceps to turn and still have good grip i ride about 60% of the time on the hard pack and about 40% of the time in the mud? are titen 589's any good and if so which one they make two or should i go with vamps outlaws, please keep in mind i do not want to add a lift kit, can my bike handle 26" tires without modifying?

thanks butch

Why not get the 589's in a 25"?
I have the 26's but I only use them when I'm mudding
other them that I use the stockers
As far as a better tire ,
I THINK the titan 589 beat out the vamps
but the ITP589 beatout the the titans

I have 26" GOODYEAR MUDRUNNERS on my 2002 sportsman 500 these tires did not require me to use a lift kit and they ride great. If you click and copy my link and paste it in your browser window you can see the MUDRUNNERS on my machine.

bear claws are excellant all around chioce without all that drivelive wear and breakage. i agree and run stockers on dry days or season. they dont wear the drivwelive and also make the bike faster and handle tons better than all those heavy power robbing agressive tires

I Just had rockymountainatv.com mount some dirt devil 25 x8x12's and 25x12x10's on itp steel wheels and got to try them in the snow today. They are six ply, and offer very similar traction to the 589's. needless to say, they outclimbed my buddies identical xpedition (with stock tires)in 12" powder, drifts, and mud. they are a big improvement for winter/spring mud/snow riding, the rest of the year i just run the stockers.
As far as steering, my atv turns much much easier with the dirt devils. i think it has to do with less rubber on the ground, and stiffer sidewalls. I didn't lose noticeable power, althought the ITP wheels are built quite a bit heavier.
I would definitely give these a serious look. Price was a big factor for me. These a lots cheaper, and rockymountainatv.com had them at my door three days after i hung up the phone.

just my $.02
