I've read all the reviews and the ads on all the big bore 4-by's. I'm ready to move up from my '98 H.O. and put money down on a Sportsman 700 Twin. Is it everything that Polaris says it is in their brochure? Would appreciate comments from new 700 owners. Thanks.

I have no complaints about my 700 so far. It is all that they say, and more in my opinion! I still ride my scrambler when I feel the need to slide around sharp corners and wheelie! I think I have the best of both worlds. You will not be dissappointed with a new 700. If you can keep your scrambler AND get the new 700 then you will have it...going on!!!

The Sportsman 400 is a 425 4 stroke. They just call it a Sportsman 400. The 400 2 stroke is only availible in the Scrambler 400 2x4 and is still in the Xplorer 400 4x4.

Could Frank be referring to the older Sportsman 400's before IRS? I'm not sure if an older (say '96?) Sportsman 400 2-stroke was ever made, but I'm amlost positive I've heard someone say they have/had one.

My brother-in law bought a sportsman 400 not long ago and it's a 2-stroke. I think he said it was a 95 model.

So far so good with my 700, except for the leaky water pump housing. Polaris has a fix for this, but parts are hard to come by right now. Have your dealer confirm that your new 700 has the redesigned water pump housing before you take delivery!
