i have a question for all you '700 boys!' LOL

i'm strongly concidering buying the new 700. BUT, i have a real concern about the lack of a back-up starter recoil.

what are your feelings? have you ever been left stranded yet?

(my sp500 has one, i've never had to use it, but it's damn nice to know that it's there.)

can i live w/o it?

thanks-in-advance for any input you can give,
MT

Jack,
when the law was written, the biggest displacement ATV engine was a 350cc.The lawmakers NEVER envisioned that engines would get this crazy.Time for a revision of the law if you ask me?

Did you get over to our MICHIGAN MATVA website yet?We have a Forum for Michigan riders over there. We been doing ALOT of riding out of that Forum and you damn sure are missing out on it.You DONT have to be a MATVA member to ride with us guys either, however, seems like every NON member thats rode once with us is NOW a member,we have ALOT of FUN.

MATVA Website is,

Yeah, I have been over to thier web site. I requested a application but nothing has shown up yet! I just got home from G_aylord today and was in G_aylord Extreme Power Sports and they had applications in thier showroom. My buddy (HoarsNest) is also thinking of joining and he told me that they are meeting in Pontiac in a while- we might attend to see what they are all about.

I agree about the law, I am sure they never envisioned anything bigger than 500cc- but it still doesn't make sense why they even but a maximum cap on the engine size- seems like needless wording to me!

While I would prefer to have a recoil starter on my 700, I have real doubts that I could even begin to pull start it! (at least without giving myself a hernia!) If your main concern is the lack of a recoil starter I wouldn't worry to much about it. The chances of actually killing the battery out in the middle of nowhere and not having at least a tow available from a buddy to get you back to civilization are slim at best I would think- and like I said, unless you are a He-Man type I don' think you'd have half-a-chance of actually pull starting this beast anyway!

Hi,
I think the WARM 2500 is better than the 2000 for two raisons. First, it pull more, second, it came with a very goo remote control. I have the Warm 2500 and it works great.
If you want to see my first picture of my 700 SP (first ride, in deep snow), go to http://www.chez.com/bourrette
My 700 is also equiped with a Warm 2500, and a reverse automatic light. It's impossible to see my winch on pictures, sorry, it'll be for the next time.
