Polaris makes a special socket for removing that nut , I believe it sells for close to $75 . (Correct me if I am wrong , I bought mine a long time ago )

You are correct about the threading it is left handed.

Berm,
I have explained this 2 times to you. Do you ever look at the messages you post? You have written about 4 post on the same topic.

You will need to use a "piston stop" to stop the shaft from spinning, it threads into the spark plug hole.

Use a large punch and a hammer to get it off and on. The special tool is nice if you afford it but in a pinch a punch will work. A couple of good hard hits normally breaks it free.

You can also go to just about any Polaris Master Mechanic and they will usually either do it for you or let you do it right there, or let you use the tool. That's what I did. If you are going to replace the seals (which is a good idea if you are breaking the block apart), use a torch to heat it up a little, comes right off. Good luck, let me know if you need any help on the motor, had mine apart twice! (1995 Scrambler 4x4)
