just put a set of these on the front of my Explorer and have a question? The split ends do not meet. the one end is 1 coil up from the other end, in simpler words, the spacer is not level, its angled uponto another coil but this is the only way it will fit. Has anyone else put these spacers in their front shocks?

Check out the Polaris V-plow product review on atvconnecton magazine dated 01\13\00. There's a "coil spacers" link that takes you to a picture of them installed. In answer to your question, they can't be installed any other way than the way you have them. It's impossible for the ends to meet.

You have them installed correctly. I just talked to polaris during the week about them. they also told me that if you dont have a blade on the machine and leave them in, it is possible that they will cause cv joint problems. If they are on and you have cv joint problems, and you are not using a blade designed by polaris you will void your warranty if the dealer sees them on there without a blade. I just found that out the hard way. 3 week old machine and tore out both cv joints in the front. I was not using thier rubber spacers or thier blade, and I have to pay for the repairs. The dealer I purchased my machine from said that it should have been covered (his thoughts), but it is not. Polaris also informed him that if anything is installed on the machines that is not sold by polaris, it will immediately void the warranty. he was suprised to hear this since he has several machines there with Big Wheel kits and aftermarket bumpers. The bumpers void and frame related warranty as do a winch, and the tires void any drivetrain warranty. So if you have these items installed, do not take it to the dealer with them still on.. I learned this the hard way ( About $600 on a 3 week old machine).

Another way that I use on my Mag500 is the stiffer springs sold thru Polaris. Work real well and only cost $30. I put a pair of those spacers on the back shock to help relieve some body squat in back. The spacers won't bother the cv's because all they do is prevent the shock from collapsing so much. THEY DO NOT INCREASE drive angles past factory settings.

Griz: thanks for the MANY replies. Don!t feel bad I did the same thing last nite, seems this is a problem they cannot seem to remedy.I think Polaris is out in space on a lot of their advice. These spacers are sold by their dealers, and they did not increase my CV joints angle at all.I have a friend who just bought a new $7500 Sportsman Rem. Edition and 37 miles later, both joints let loose. Had a hell of a time getting him back. The same thing, dealer couldn!t fix them under warranty til they were in touch with Polaris! The Polaris reps. said that maybe he ran into something, maybe he was doing this, or that or whatever. He was coming up out a creek bank where 4 other machines just came from.I am going to leave these spacers in and will keep all informed if my cv joints suffer any damage.PS- they did fix the joints on the Sportsman but WHEW- I would not want that bill out of warranty!!!
