Well, since everyone has to have something to haul their atv's around, I thought I would share my thoughts on one. I have always been a dodge fan, and when the 2002 came out, well, I had to trade the 2000 off to get one. All I can say is very impressive. The ride is the smoothest I have ever riden in a truck. It's got lots of power. We ended up getting the ext. cab with the long bed. It is nice to have the 4 full doors standard. The handling and power are great.
If you are in the market for something new to haul the quad in, take a look at em, they are very impressive.

I have an '01 Ram Quadcab and was reminded on my way to work this morning why I won't buy another one. I will be going down the road at 60 mph, and all of a sudden, there is a loud "BANG" in the rear end and it feels like the back end is falling out. I'm not the first to have this problem from reading the boards here and the new trucks apparently have the same problem. Back to Chevy I go.

Good luck polaris man on your new Dodge, I am the proud owner of a 2001 quad cab with the off-road package best damn truck ever produced from a factory. Wish mine had the new style quad cab design.

Ended up gettin the 4.7 litre V8 they just came out with.
It defently has more power than the 318 it replaced. I was told only 5 less horsepower than the 360.
I have never experienced any problems with dodge, that's why we got the Durango and the Ram.
The last Ford we had wasn't bad, but we sold it and the guy called and asked if we have ever had the rear end tore off, or had it in water, and other stuff.
The thing had never been offroad, I guess he said the rear end went out the week he got it.
But so far the, Yes, 1500, is excellent. It rides a lot better than the 2000 we had, look even better when we get some toys on it.

Sorry to hear about your rear axle problems LEP7MM, I haven't heard of any failures that you describe. I have heard of some whining complaints, but most of those stem fom aftermarket gear swaps, and incorrect R & P setups.
