Maybe Rick can tell us how the 414 would do in a 100 yard race against a stock Scrambler 400...

Will the 414 head pipe match up with a supertrapp or white bros E-series? I want the 414 kit but would need to have a quiter pipe with a spark arrestor.

I ussually don't comment in threads regarding RcR products , but I will answer a few questions in this case .

The 414 kit takes the bore size from 78mm to 88mm this produces an engine with a true 414cc. The pistons are custom made by JE piston company for my application. These pistons are much higher quality than what comes out stock in the machine .

Many times bore kits get risky internally regarding thin cylinder skirts, cylinder bores getting close to cylinder studs and loss of gasket area in the head gasket area. These things can lead to problems.

The 325 Polaris has so much room to do this bore kit none of the previous problems apply unlike a 400 - 440 EX Honda kit (which I also do ) .

I have a Trail boss with the bore it , cam ,and port work on it. Lining it up against a stock 400 scrambler for a 100 yard run using riders of equal weight goes like this . The 414 will holeshot the 400 by 2 bike lengths for about 20 yards , about then the 400 starts rolling well and will catch the 414 about 60 yards out and develope a lead of about 4 bikes lengths at 100 yards . Go see the video earlier , and put a stop watch on it .The blue reflector is 100 yards . Compare this to what a 400 will do in 100 yards to get an idea .

The exhaust systems we were using we were building here , I am currently getting White Brothers E-series mufflers and making the hardware to mount them . They have a nice looking muffler and it is spark arrested . My time is so limited I found it wiser to use an off the shelf muffler and just make mounting for it . The performance between the old style and the new one are about the same .

I own several cylinders and heads . I attempt to have them sleeved up and ready to go for immediatte exchanges . If you want one of these kits just call and I will get things together and send to you finished parts , and then you must return yours . I do this so you don't have to have your bike sitting all apart for weeks .

I have a magazine / internet article on disc that I should get online some time , I just have not had the time to get it done . Maybe soon I will have it on somewhere so that you guys can have a read and see the pictures .
