Dusty,

If money is the main factor, then I agree with getting a 1500 lb winch and using a ****** block. However, if that were the case, I would be driving a Suzuki 300 with all those gear ranges instead of a SP 500 which has the power I want without having 15 gears to make use of limited power. If a fellow has got the money to get a monster bike, then he would be better off to opt for the stronger winch. Like I said, I've almost stalled out my 3300 lb winch. I guess I would have to double block and pulley a 1500 lb winch to get out of some holes. The other reason I like the Rule 3300 lb winch better is because of the metal gear housing instead of plastic, which can easily strip out.

Dusty--Is SuperLift or Skyjacker better? I went to NLU.

I bought a Superwinch (T1500) and I'm not very happy with it. It pulls great, but if you have tension on it and let off of the switch, it will roll out and release the tension. It could never hang my '97 Explorer 500 (same as SP500) from a tree (like some manufacturer's show in their ads). It would just roll out until the quad hit the ground and took the tension off of the line. I have a friend that has a Warn 2500# attached to his rail buggy and he can hang it from a tree with no problems and it will hang there until he wants to let it down. So, my next winch will probably be a Warn, and definitely not another Superwinch.

Walexa,

I was not trying to belittle your choice. If money were not the object, I would probably get the Rule also. However, for the terrain I ride a winch is seldom needed. I'm sure I'll run into a situation were my winch won't do the job, but until then I'll make do with what I have.
I was just trying to add a little humor to the subject.
TXDOC2,
Not exactly sure what your asking. I didn't go to NLU.
