who rides the 2002 trailboss and how do you like it?

I have a 2002 trailboss and have alot of fun on it and for the money its been great. I am looking for feedback on how much difference there is when installing a K&N air filter. are there any other cheap mods to add that will get a little more performance? it seems like when I have it at full throttle it isn't at a very high RPM. is there a way to increase the throttle to get more RPMs?

Have had my 02 Trail Boss for little over a week and taken it out once.
Encountered more mud than expected, never had a problem. Went through mud deep enough to slide along on the skidplate and never got stuck. Stopped once in the mud and was able to get out again by shifting my weight back as far as possible and pulling up on the handlebars. The machine walked right out of the mud at about half throttle throwing mud everywhere!
I bought this machine for trail riding with no interest in being super fast, 40 mph is fast enough at my age. Rode Scramblers, the Trail Boss, and Yamaha Beartracker before deciding on the Boss for reasons of comfort, ease of operation, stable riding and simple maintenance. Liked the price too.
Might want to check with Aaen in Wisconsin, not sure if they are on the web, they do make performance kits for the Scrambler. Somewhere in the forum I saw someone had installed a 414 kit by RCR and have seen other mods described. Do a search for Trail Boss and you will find the information.

Do a K&N. 21 bucks from Rocky mountain ATV. Also, remove the snorkle from the airbox. You will be surprised at the power.......
There are a lot of other mods from RCR to do as well. but you mentioned a K&N, and I love what it did for our 325 Magnum.
