I mean come on now! Seriously, i know that you do not use the recoil starter that much anyways, but just in case it would be nice. I would like to have the security of it just in case my battery takes a crap of i leave my lights on too long. How hard is it just to design an engine with a recoil starter? i have never heard of such a thing. I can just imagine sitting in the middle of the woods by myself and malking 20 miles back to my house, or even better, pushing it back.

with EBS you can catch the engine by coasting down a hill. i have started my xplorer by coasting it down a steep hill. i think towing/pushing it would start it also. i have added EBS to it when it was made available over the counter.

How do you start the atv by coasting it with EBS. Is it like popping the clutch on a manual shift vehicle? I don't see how it would work.

I would just like to see the guy that could pull start that motor with a recoil starter... it has no compression release. That is why there is not recoil starter.

they could still put an automatic decompressiopn on the thing, would'nt be that hard. what if you're riding by yourself in illinois or something, they usually don't have that many steep hills. also like i said if you are in normal woods by yourself, how the hell are you gonna push a 750lb machine to a hill, unless you are lucky and it dies right an top of a hill. Or if you are in a gully. all things to think about and things that are not so un-likely to happen.

Prairie 650's and I think grizz 660's have recoil starters. The motors aren't that much smaller. I think the reason they didn't put recoil starters on Polaris 700 is because the motor is an inline twin, so it is wide enough as is.

Hey, What was Honda thinking on the 400ex ??? A "sport" quad without a kick starter ????? "Sport" quads don't have electric starters....

The 650 Prairie definately has a recoil starter.
