Their are 24 fittings on both the 700 and 500 but the latest models coming from the factory have 22. That is because polaris did away with the 2 fittings on the anti-roll bar on the back of the machine. One on each end of the roll bar. Don't know why they did this other than to save money. Two different dealers have told me that the roll bar is now pre-greased from the factory. The Five fittings that are on the U-joints take the polaris black grease and the rest take the polaris green grease or the grease of your choice as some of the other owners do. Myself, I use the polaris grease. Their is one fitting on top of the steering post that you access under the front of the headlight pod as other owners have stated. You will probably have to move wireing around under the front of the headlight pod to see it. I just try to spread the wireing apart with my fingers and try to get it to stay there till I can get the grease gun on it. I grease after every time I ride in deep mud or water. Cheap maintainence. I probably misspelled that. And that too. Get grease guns with the flexible hose and the job will be a lot easier. As I stated, my 700 has 24 fittings as does my sons 02'500 h.0. My other son's 02' freedom edition 500H.O only has 22 fittings, minus the 2 on the roll bar. I've got the job down to about 30 minutes but that is after greasing sometimes 3 atv's a week or more. They always claim they can't find the fittings. You'll probable see other posts where other owners have 69, 102, 16 or some other amount of fittings but their are either 24 or 22 depending on if your roll bar has them. Hope this helps!!
