hi my cv on my 01 sportsman 500 is making a grinding sound and i think i need to rebuild it or buy a new one. can someone tell me if i can even rebuild it? and if it will last, and work well? i want the cheapest way possible? how i can tell if its bad?? please help me out

cv's arent that hard.
Is it front,back,wheel side gearside?
The first thing u got to do is pull the boot off to see where the problem is.Is it the bearing,the u-joint,did the shaft come out,did it break?
Do you have a lift kit on it?

 

its got a lift in the front not back. and 27 mud machines. its the left rear side cv, but i might rebuild both of them. there is no sign of breaking except the gringing noise.
