Ok, has anyone found any heavy-duty brake pads that WORK and LAST LONG for Polaris? My stock rear pads lasted about 700-800 miles, and my new Severe Duty EBC pads last 150-200 miles, and now they are completely worn down. In both cases my front pads still had some left to go.

This is pretty discouraging considering how much the EBC pads cost.

---------

Update... I think it was just the mud we were in last weekend that wore the pads down so bad. A friends '00 Sportsman with about 150 miles on it had pads in great shape (like mine) when we got there, and now his are worn to metal also. Ahhh, mud is just to expensive...

Adam,
your new brakes crapped out?... I put new ones on the Magnum about a month ago and they have been doing great... although with the EBS.. I don't use them much.. The Scrambler brakes are almost a year old and are doing fine... Did you do the break-in procedure on them when you installed them?.. Burnishing?
Who really needs brakes anyway?...lolol

To be honest with you, I wasn't hard on the new brakes, but I have never heard of a break in precedure for them...

I think there is some literature on breaking in the sintered pads. You are suppose to take off and get to a decent speed and slam the brakes... From what I remember, you are suppose to do that several times... I think it was something to do with seating them in to your rotors... I wish I had the information that came with the brake pads.. I'm trying to recall all of this from memory... (please.. no laughing.....)
I remember it saying that if the break-in procedure wasn't followed.. that pad life WOULD be reduced..
See if EBC has a web-site or 1-800 number and call them about it.. I remember having to do this on the Scrambler brakes...
