If your gauge is correct it should run with 125 psi . Have you
pulled the head off and looked at the cylinder walls . I cooked
my rings and piston right after a rebuild . It was running but
loosing power and after I shut it off it would not start . All it
did was back fire , checked the compression and it was down to
92 psi . So I honed it and another new piston base and head gasket
latter its running great .If RCR did your work give him a call
he cut me a deal on the piston and gaskets .

Took the cylinder off. Everything look ok except it is fuel soaked real bad. Rings were not stuck and the piston just has normal wear marks on it. It still had 125psi right before I took it back down again. I am going to let it stay tore down for a couple of hours and try again.

Thanks

Got it all back together and used a different copression tester and came up with 126 this go round. Also changed spark plug caps with the Trailblazer and the Blazer started fine.Ruled that out. Am going to pull flywheel next.

Looks like I have found the problem. Pulled the flywheel and the key is wore flat. Looks like timing. That is bad when it comes down to a 50cent part. Thanks to all those that responded and lets keep our fingers crossed.

That great! Glad to see you found the problem. A Cheap, relatively easy fix!

It might not be so cheap after all. It ate up the inside of the flywheel pretty bad. Don't know if the key will hold it or not. The guy who works at the shop came by and said he never seen one that ate up. He said 50-50 chance it would hold but he recommended a new flywheel. I still love my scrammy cause this is the first problem I ever had with it. Spent a day and a half on something that took 5 minutes to do. I can now set speed records on going through a topend.

Thanks everyone
Ronnie
