hmmm...27 inch tires. The tire has a considerably larger diameter, effectively changing the gear ratio and the amount of RPM required to maintain a particular speed. That tire goes much farther in one revolution than the stock 25 incher did. After turning the tires a lot of times, that starts to add up. A large tire is effectively giving you an overdrive, bringing down your RPMs, hence, using less gas.
