Papa if power is what you are looking for you can't go wrong with ether.I have a 400explore and I can tell you power is know problem. But if you ride in any national parks 2-strokes will be outlawed sooner are later, and after that private parks.I have buddies that have 500 and they really like them, but(you knew there would be a but hahaha) both seem to have clutch problems, one had to replace his cam,and the other isn't for behind. But they did put them threw some kind of hell. What ever you do I think you will do go.

The SP400 and the SP500 HO are both great machines and either one will get up up steep hills. They are both 4 stroke so don't worry about the parks. If you can afford the SP500 HO though that would be my choice. I recently bought the HO and my SP400 is now on the selling block, but it has had no problem staying up with either of my 500's. The biggest differences are that the 500's do have more power and they also have EBS for coming back down the steep hills!
