I was thinking about putting on those after market Fox Struts for my 95 scrambler. I do lots of jumping and the stock struts just are not the ticket. Any comments or suggestions

I called Fox shocks and the guy I talked to was just promoted from Bicycles. And didn't have a clue. I was looking for some to fit my 98 explorer 400.

As far as I know right now you can only get the non-adjustable rebuildable ones ($260 per pair from Hot Seat). They are an improvement over OEM, but not quit as goos as the fully adjustable ones.

The fully adjustable ones with remote reservoirs are'nt available anymore, for some reason. Unless you can find a used pair, but I'm sure after using them nobody would want to get ride of them and go back to stock.

Try new springs first, they're a lot cheaper.

I have a pair on my Sport. Let me say for jumping they are much better than stock. They feature compression dampening that the Sachs or other originals lack. They really make the most out of the limited front suspension (6.25") by slowing down the down the impact of the landing. Instead of using the springs as the stock struts do, the Fox struts use dampening and the springs to absorb the bumps. The result is a slightly stiffer ride but well worth it when it comes to the rough stuff at high speeds.

I found some Fox Shocks w/resivore on it-which is what I wanted at www.choppercity.com. But they were $300ea which in rediculous. I can buy a PAIR or aftermarket Fox gas shocks for $260. What are the advantages of the $300 ones?

Before you get too excited I'd check availability of the struts first. Their stuff bears a striking resembelnce to HPD's products, hmmm.

But, the advantages of the $300.- struts is that they are fully adjustable (rebound/compression) and have remote reservoirs.

They got the suspension from HPD, along with a lot of other stuff. I talked to them on the phone a while back when I saw that. They said they don't have any. They must have had some leftovers when HPD ran out.

I heard that HPD is developing another adjustable, remote resivor strut for the Scrambler w/ .75" more travel which would be 9" on the front. This was from a quad shop that deals w/ HPD. I haven't had a chance to call myself to verify so we'll see. I heard it wont be availible until fall. I'm going to wait until then to see what transpires.
