I've enjoyed reading this forum now for a couple of months and am now the proud owner of a '00 Sportsman 335. Rides beautiful. Primarily a working machine but I'd like to trail ride some. Anyone out there have one that they've made any performance mods to? Pipe? Carb kit? Tires etc... What kind of difference did it make? Thanks in advance for any and all suggestions.

Welcome aboard! If your intended use you listed is accurate, leave it alone. There are enough threads about mods, and other threads concerning mod problems associated with the changes. If added performance is what you truely want, did you consider the 500 over the 335?

I used to own the larger 99 500cc Sportsman.I installed a KN filter,26 inch Goodyear Mudrunners and a HP clutch kit.I have talked to a few guys who have added expensive pipes that did very little for their performance. In fact, they all tell me they would'nt do it again. You know, price vs gain = not much of an improvement for the money? The 500cc Sportsman stock is alot faster than the 335 Sportsman throughout the entire powerband. It 's also about a grand more.Except for some clutching improvements,Id leave the rest of it alone,===BILL

I have a '99 Sportsman 335 and it has been flawless. It is great for working, any type, hard or easy. The weight makes it an awesome puller.I am in the process of making a three-point hitch. I am also considering getting tractor-style tires, tractor-like tread, I mean. And a Warn 2000 winch, and possibly the ring and pinion set from Highlifter if they ever make it.
