why 4 strokes??

I have had 4x4 two strokes before, a sportsman 400 and a 350L 4x4. the motors on those machines that i had had no problems. I dont see why they dont put 2 strokers in the bigger speed machines like the DS 650 and others.. they run cooler, faster, and have more snap. also the 2 stroke motors are more reliable ( no valves, no oil in crank, or oil filter, no timing chain or push rods, no valve cover, and other things) also 2 strokes weigh less than the big 4 strokes. but like i say the 4 strokes have there place, in pulling and low end power.that is what should be in the 4x4's like they are but in the speed machines they should try to look at two strokes like in the banchee.. (for performance they use 2 strokes....a good example is SNOWMOBILES!!i mean 110mph in a 600cc machine and 600 pounds and the drag on a big track...thats a two stroke for yah!)

Everyone is making 4-strokes because they are basically being forced to. Every company has to have a certain level of "air quality" amongst thier line of machines to pass the regulations. Some states, like California, are very strict. That being the case, it is better for the companies to focus thier energy on building a 4-stroke and get as much power out of them as possible from the start instead of having to change thier line-up in the future if they would have used a 2-stroke. I agree, I also love 2-strokes...nothing smells better!
