This is no big deal. It is more of a "I'm curious" kind of thing.

I have a 2002 Sportmans 400. I was on the Polaris website and pulled
up the tech specs on this model. The specs claim that the 400 has a
front and rear accesory plug. The front one is easy to spot. I have as
yet been able to find a rear plug on my 400.

The specs for the 500 claim the same features.

Has anyone ever seen a rear plug on the 400 or 500?

Thanks

I was curious as well. I have the 2002 500HO and have not seen the rear one.

"Specifications subject to change without notice"????

I'm just curious to find out what is an accessory plug? like a cigarette lighter the kind found in cars, or like a household DC plug?

It is simply a 12v cig plug. The Sportsman has one mounted on the side of the
front headlight. It is nice for plugging in cell phones or spotlights. It's fine as long as the machine is running. However, it can eat your battery PDQ if the ATV is not moving.

Howdy, In the back it is just a 2 pin connector that is plugged from the factory. You should have gotten a pigtail to use it, in your toolkit.

I actually e-mailed Polaris about this a while back. It is pre-wired but is sold as an accessory, not in the tool kit.

Thanks for the info guys. I may explore the cost of this plug.
It is a "nice to have" but not a "need to have".

See ya
