same old question but i finally have all the money to take the plunge
should i get 28" or 27" outlaw or the super swamper with the 2 1/2 " treads, i was leaning towards the 27" outlaws, i have a 2000 polaris 500 not a ho high lifter recommends lifting only the front with 27" outlaws, they also offer a clutch kit and a high performance kit with the ids exhaust, have any of you'll had any experience with this setup? i will use these tires only during the hunting season then i will put the stock tires back on. and the hunting season will be all mud and duck ponds.and how much harder will it be to steer because it already is a pain when loaded
thanks butch

The 28" Vamps EDLs have a better ride than the outlaws. But when you are in the mud ride dont matter.
The Outlaws will float alot better than the EDLs. The EDLs are better for deep thick mud with a bottom. The outlaws will outperfrom any tire better for all around mud conditions.
Bottom line for thick mud with a bottom get vamps, if you ride in thick, thin, or whatever type of mud get outlaws.
You might want to try running the 28" vamps up front and 28x12.5 Outlaws in back. My friend has this set up on his 700 and does very good. I got pictures of this set up on My Site
The clutch kit Highlifter is made buy EPI and gives you lots of low end power for turning big tires. It will effect top end speed buy 4 to 5
mph. I have been thinging about this clutch kit for my 400 or maybe a Heel Clicker.

I went with the Titan 589's for multi-purpose. EXCELLENT manners AND mud capability. Not as aggressive as the Vamps or Laws, but much more versatile IMHO.
Ripper,
I like the way you put it for the Vamps finding bottom. I think, however I may be inclined to run the hole diggers in the rear, and keep the front up a bit. Guess it's a "horses for courses" thing...

Hey i got some 26" laws on chrome wheels with a highlifter lift kit for your machine. Ive been wanting to get rid of them for awhile i even have the front spacers so you can run the 10"ers up front. Remeber that how often is there a bottom to mud ???? Oh yeah the tires are in awesome shape and the lift kit has never yes i mean never been used.Let me know if your interested. I would go with outlaws if you just where going to use them for hunting season i personally dont know how bad duck ponds can get but the laws would be your best bet. Oh sorry for got to let you know they are 26 x10x12 and 26x12x12.thanks for your time
