Just took my 2001 HO to the dealer and he said that my wheeler needs a CDI box at the tune of $220.00 just for the part no labor.
Anybody know if Polaris has had any problems with there CDI boxes?

My original '99 unit has been through a war and then some. Are they sure it's the box?

What is your machine running like ? I am trying to fix a 2000 sportsman 500 that keeps breaking down and skipping under load, idles fine low speed is fine just the wide open and hill climbing is the problem, and our local dealer is not into giving out free advice.

I know it's across town for you, but the folks over at Heinen's in Osseo, MN can't be beat. BEST PRICES, and KICK BUTT SERVICE GUYS. Don't let the smaller appearance fool you, the place moves more Polaris products than anyone. It's a long standing family run operation. Good people.

My wheeler is fixed and I found out they put a cdi box in and that didn,t fix the problem. They ended up puting in a new stator and solved the problem. My wheeler was missing under load and back firing and it would only do it after the motor was warmed up.The stator omed out fine when the motor was cold but when it got hot it would short out.

Glad to hear it's fixed. I was gonna suggest Ricky Stator for a higher output stator, but since you already have a UTE, you already have more juice. Happy riding!!!
