I have a 95 Magnum 425 4x4 that has a torn boot on the front right axle. I can't seem to figure out how to get the axle out of the hub so I can put on the rubber boot. I have the tie rod undone, took off the lower A-arm, the shock is disconnected from the top mount, and the wheel removed(mostly to get it out of the way!)...all in hope of freeing up the axle out of the hub but it still won't come out. I am guessing that there is something inside the hub that is preventing it from coming out, however I am a little leary of taking it apart w/o an exploded parts view and getting in completely over my head. Does anyone know a trick to getting the rubber boot on or am I going to have to go in through the hub? Your help is appreciated! Thanks!

The CV joint is secured onto the axle with a spring-loaded clip. It will come apart if you remove the strut from the A-arm, and hit the bottom of the strut with a soft-face hammer. Mine took a pretty good hit before it popped apart.
You can also take the hub apart, if you so desire, but I think it is easier to pop the joint apart that way. No need to do anything with the hub this way, just watch the axle alignment when re-assembling it.

All right I got the axle out of the hub w/ a good sized wack from a hammer. I got the boot installed and got everything back together w/o any problems. Thank you very much!
