Barko you really need to get rid of your narrow thinking. Not eveyone Pretty soon their dressing diferent, you know leather with fringe, they get tattoos, start carrying wallets with chains on them, start wearing bandannas, start needing a haircut, a bath,. Very narrow thinking.

Dressing different is a primary safety concern for riding motorcycles. Leather offering the best protection. I'm sure you wouldn't dress like you're going to the beach and go riding instead, most serious riders of all types of bikes wear leather. MOST Harley riders are exactly the opposite of what you think they are. You have conformed to the sheep mentality that hollywood has made you believe that all harley owners are members or the 1 percenters. You do know what a one percenter is don't you?

Sorry, but me and my friends don't have tattoos, no fringe, no wallets with chains (you do know what the chains are for don't you? ), No haircuts here most of us have crew cuts or marine cuts , clean shaved and bath daily. Sad stereotype you have of harley's and harley owners.

Open up your eyes man, you're so narrow minded your missing the whole world go past.

Creepster,
My last post on this. I said these things might not apply to you, obviously they don't. But that has been my first hand observation of SOME people. As far as the leather goes you are probably right, it is best, but I also see a lot of hard core Goldwing riders that don't where leather. Also when you talk about safety,it's interesting to me that here once people start on the HD 's they don't wear helmets anymore ( you don't have to wear helmets in Montana ). I think it's peer pressure plain and simple all for a look. Having said that if anybody wants to go without a helmet, have at it. I wouldn't stop anybody, just think it's very foolish.
I don't watch much TV so hollywood hasn't influenced me as much as you might think. BTW, no, I don't know what a 1 percenter is, nor do I know what the chains are for, you can clue me in if you wish. As to my narrow thinking you might be right but it could just be opinion based on first hand observation also. Sorry I stepped on your toes, no offence meant.

1 percenter is a person who lives the motorcyle gang life. Tattoos, long hair, no bathing etc... Just like you portrayed many harley owners. The image hollywood has portrayed. That is only 1 percent of the harley owners hence the name 1 percenter.

The chains on the wallet prevents you from losing you wallet on a ride. You wallet is pushed up by theback of the seat and many times you lose it HENCE the chains. I put my wallet in my front pocket instead of the chains. We all wear helmets here in NY it's the law. There is a whole world out there and it's different than you're little corner. You might want to go out and see it rather than stereotyping a certain motorcycle and the people who ride them.

Many people buy harleys for the sense of power they portray. Nothing better then a rumbling harley.

BTW, the import bikes are trying to replicate the sound of a harley by making the bikes misfire and give them a rumble. Imports just run TOO smooth. Just like, why have a Nissan when you can have a 66 cobra that runs like a raped ape and shakes windows when you roll buy. Imports just don't RUMBLE they buzz.

Okay creepster,
Tried to tell you it might not apply to you or anybody else in NY as far as that goes but it does apply to other places besides my little corner of the world as you put it. You ever been to my little corner of the world ? It isn't so little just not packed with people which is just the way I like it. I've been to plenty of other places and seen a lot of different parts of the country.
As to your last two points I agree. A lot of people seem to like a bike so loud you have to wear earplugs when you ride and to sound like it's running on one clyinder. I think you're right gives them a sense of power.
And last point, man lighten up, people can have different opinions on things. If it's something you enjoy, by all means have at it.I do believe you're not one of those sheep I refered to. Good for you , that's the thing that turned me off on HD around HERE.
I've actually enjoyed this but I'm sure people are ready to talk about Polaris again. Send me a PM if you want to talk some more.

I think that Harely's are like Corvettes. Either you have it in your blood or you don't. If you don't, you just can't understand.

Just thought I would throw that in!

BTW-Harely chicks RULE!!! (well, not all...but the ones I've seen at Sturgis and Daytona on TV do!)

I was in Daytona and the chicks rocked. Even hung out with Jack Nicholson and his harley.

Some people just like to paint with a broad brush. Sad.
