I rolled my 500HO a couple of weekends ago and took out the headlight pod. I just received the new parts today and went to install them. I installed everything and started the bike up and everything electrical worked except the new speedo, the highbeam and the 12 volt "cigarette" lighter. I can't figure it out and I messed around with it for about three hours. I have a feeling it is just a fuse or something litte, but I was wondering if I could get your help. The neutral and reverse light work along with my winch, the low beams and the all lights on the handlebars (all wheel drive, light button, and run stop switch). What am I doing wrong?????

Thanks,

Does the speedo light up? Does anything work on the speedo i.e. hour meter, mph, ect.. I would check to see if you have power going to the speedo. The obvious could be the speedo is bad from the get go. This is a common problem. I didn't have my 02 two weeks and the speedo went out. Let us know what you find out.

The speedo is brand spanking new so I would think it works. The speedo isn't even lighting up! I can't figure it out!

Like I said, the speedo could be bad eventhough it is brand new. You would have to rig up a tester to test it yourself. I've seen the Polaris mech. test mine with one, but don't know how to rig one up. He had a 9V battery and a pen light tester rigged together. I would bring it to a Polaris shop and have them test it. If its bad they can order you a new one if they don't have one in stock. At least that way you can stop beating your head against the wall..lol. Good luck
