It just might be the lean problem, with that big engine it needs gas, and with all the air it maybe bogging down from all air and no gas, try turning it up a little, cant hurt, bye

I imagine with the colder temperatures in Canada the engine requires a little richer jetting on the top end. A friend of mine had the same problem with a Honda 450ES in Michigan. It lost top speed as the temperatures got colder. He had to go up 2 jet sizes, which cured his problem.
Good Luck

Try hooking up to a Grizzly and having him pull you, then you'll beat that little Bear!

Great idea, that way when you get stuck in the mud the Polaris can pull you out.

them riders doiing 60 mph must have a kph speedometer installed, because 44 is all mine will do as well! I havwe been complaining since day one, and have tried all the parformance bolt-ons, only to find it still reaches the same speed. I zm beginning to accept the top speed of my 2000 500 sporttsman as 44 at its peak. With my 27" claws I'd like to challenge all the speeding quads go a mud-out. You first, then me stopping to pull you out.

Hey SWAC1 with my 99 sp 500 when i first got it it would do 61 to 62 MPH on a gps which was so close to the speedo 1/5 mph off . Then i put on 26 " mudrunners, and guess what happened Wow!!! somtimes it is hard to hit 40 mph, thats no bull. It also happened to my 99 500 mag, same thing it went from about 57 mph to about a solid 40 mph, i switch back and forth from stock to aftermarket, if i need more speed. Hell i gained 4 mph in low range but that is not what it is for. I posted need more power once and asked how people can turn 28 vamps, i just can,t see it happening as it is hard enough to turn 26" tires , maybe it is a different kind of mud there who knows? I do know a grizzly with the same tires has lost no speed, it has had no loss in power also. I hate it and it realy sucks, but i always end up pulling him out when we ride i wish i had his power!!!
