400 explorer problems
#1
i currently own a 2000 explorer 400 with about 4200 miles. It began to smoke real bad so I replaced the head gasket. It continues to smoke. the smoke is actually steam because the anti-freeze level is dropping and it smells like anti freeze. I don't think the block is cracked because the machine still has ample power and torque. Some people say that it could be a problem with the water pump?
if anybody might know whats wrong please respond to this.

Sounds like your water pump seal. I just replaced mine. Look for a leak from the vent hose located by your pull cord housing, thats where mine was blowing it out after leaking from the water pump.
