Overriding the Reverse Button
#1
I have heard that a stiffer springset in the clutch could make it necessary to use the override button. How do you do this? Is there a kit? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. - Dave

well heck, just do what i did...buy a new polaris atv, drive it for a while, and in no time your reverse override will be stuck on, your low beams wont even turn on, your steering stem will be loose, and the sprocket will wear out in about 2 weeks...
ever since i got it fixed, its ran great....go figure

I've not done it yet, but here is a suggestion that may work:
Under the front cowl and behind the oil resovoir are two verically mounted electronic blocks. From the front and facing the rear the leftmost block (very thin and wide) is the reverse limiter. The yellow and red wire appears to be the RPM sense.
Just a few inches above that block is a quick connect. The wires can be pulled out of the connect from the bottom individually. Try pulling the yellow/red and see what you get.
Good luck.

On mine I had to unplug the black wire to bypass the reverse over ride in reverse be keep it working for 4x4 in reverse.
