'89 250 throttle cable adjustment? Please help!
#1
Howdy, new to the ATV world. I just replaced a broken throttle cable on a 4X2 250 2-stroke, and there are threaded adjusters at the throttle control, carb, and oiler. This is a used ATV, no shop or owners manual, so no instructions. Could anyone help me out, or steer me in the right direction? I would hate to run it lean, or without enough oiling.
Thanks.

OK, on all the later models (I would think it the same for the earlier models as well) There is a mark on the oil pump arm and one on the pump housing. They should line up just as the throttle slide begins to barely move. Make sure the throttle cable is correctly adjusted first, then do the oil pump. The later 400's have a second mark that should line up at full throttle, but not sure on yours. On the several I have seen, this is how they adjust. Hope this helps,Bubba
