Sp500 4x4 problem
#1
Hey all ive got a 200 sp500. For some reason in 4x4 the right front tire will not engage no matter what i do.
Ive checked the wire everyone has talked about in the past and it seems to be fine. I put the bike in the air and neither reverse or forward would
engage the hub. Anyone else have any ideas?? Im hoping i dont have to take it into the mechanic, they are pricey and far.

Could be one of many things causing the problem.
1. Weak magnet.
2. Bent or worn armature plate.
3. Hub oil low or dirty.
4. Incorrect spacing between the magnetic coil and the armature plate.
5. Malfunction of the Hillard clutch caused by contamination.
I may have missed something off the top of my head here. There are a lot of good posts on the forum to help you troubleshoot the problem. Do an advanced search and use keywords like AWD, Hillard, armature, etc.
Most problems are caused by hub fluid issues and contamination in the hub by leaking seals. Once you find the problem, concentrate on finding the cause so you don't have to deal with it again.
Good Luck.
