Default Dalton vs Heelclicker

I ordered a dalton kit today,
will be here in 2 days.
I'm going to "TRY" to get it on this weekend, before the holiday?
Does anyone want to know any times with the H/C?
If so ,what?Like 25',50',100',1/4 mile plus top-end.
Then I'll put the Dalton on and do the same test.
I'm open for any suggestions??

sp700,

i had my dealer put an epi brand clutch kit in my 700. the engagement was too high for my liking at the time (deer season, slow going in the woods. even in low range it was hard to go slow). so i had him put in a different spring, it lowered the engagement but still goes like hell (i like that). maybe next spring i'll switch back cuz i'll be doing more trail riding and dragging buddies. the part no. for the kit is #WE415030.....does anybody know if this will work ok with a pipe? or is it only for the stock pipe?

Dalton Industries is just a few minutes from me. They have some awsome working stuff. They drag race 2wd and 4wd quads here, and always do very well. Also excellent for snowmobiles.

Yoopermike, you can run the same setup with a pipe on the 4-stroke if you want as long as it doesnt change the top operating rpm of the engine. The general idea whan adding power is the ability to load the motor faster and harder without pulling the engine rpms down under hard acceleration. That increases performance alot. A pipe on the 4-stroke doesnt react as much as the 2-stroke models, but a primary spring change,a secondary helix change or even slightly more primary weight would be what you would want.If you dont change the clutching, you wont be getting much out of the pipe change. Same would go for more compression, cam change, porting, etc. Hope this helps,Bubba

hi there yoopermike ,sp7oo here thanks for the info.I priced the kit here in canada (225.00 canadian).what did you pay ? How well does this work on your bike . any noticeable change my dealer tells me theres no difference.cant see that ! I was also looking at the heelclicker kit but it is 185.00 american wich is about 400$ from my wallet. If the epi works well for you i think iwill go for the epi. thanks. i would appreciate any reply.sp7oo

These test where done a couple days ago

I got the Heelclicker time trial's out of the way
and here are the results.
keep in mind I'm running ITP 26-12-12 and 10-12's but it dosent matter for the test we're doing because I'll be useing the same tires and track.Right?

0-20mph=2.87,2.60,2.85 ...
0-30mph=4.32,4.04,4.29 ...
0-40mph=7.26,7.76,7.58 ...
0-50mph=16.79 I only did that one time,
Im telling ya it's cold out there
And top end is a measley 52mph.

Now when I had stock tires and clutch the needle on the speedo was hitting the "S" on the word "POLARIS" at the bottem of the speedo .Then when I run the 26''s I lost somewhere around 6-7mph off top end(acceptable loss,IMO)

These times are done with my stop-watch watch.
I held it in my (gloveless)right hand to start and stop
it,so times are a little rough.
Oh yeah ,tire's were 5psi

These test were done today.

These test were all done on the same pavement as the H/C
Dalton Kit
0-20mph=2.62,2.58,2.80
0-30mph=4.25,4.23,4.29
0-40mph=7.28,7.23(only did 2 runs)
0-50mph=forgot to do that one
This one blew my mind...
top-end=60mph
These times are all pretty close with the H/C
With the exception of the top-end .BUT...I now have 25' of rubber on my blacktop from where I started the times. So that would leed me to believe Dalton is loseing time due to the wheels spinning.
26-12-12's burning rubber
It still wont wheelie in high
Low took me by suprise and jumped right up
I'm pretty sure I'm going riding tomorrow so I'll get to get a better feel for it then.
