You can get a 13 toth sprocket from sprocket specialist. It's from a 02 Honda xr650L.

Why wouldn't you go 14 f 39 rear?? I don't know much about this gearing stuff. I have 14f 36 r and I hate it no torque plenty speed. I want to know what is the best combo. I am staying with the stock 14 f?

Hey Modquad,

I'm looking to gear my quad down just a bit more. I am at 13/37. I climb alot of rocks and steep hills, especially the rocks. I read the gear ration chart, but that really only tells me what the ratio's are, not what I need. I were to go up in the back, what would you recommend? I bought a 40, but I'm not so sure now, and before I put it one, I wonder if a 38 or 39 would be better.

Whaddya say?

Anyone else is free to chime in.

Thanks

Scott

Bell - the 39 will fit with the factory skid and chain. I run 13 - 39 on my predator with the stock chain and skid, no modifing needed.

turbo bobby

BTW 13 - 39....3rd gear wheelies no problem!
