Default Solonoid problems!

This is the 3rd solonoid I had to replace. Is anyone else having a problem with this when operating your winch for plowing?
Can you eliminate the solonoid?
If so can you tell me how to wire it and if you need a heavy duty switch?Where to mount the switch?
I have it currently hooked up to a switch so the winch isnt always powered up unlike the
way warn shows the wiring with power running to it at all times.
Thanks for any help

Your gonna need a heavy duty battery kill type switch or something like that. A winch draws a good amount of power, and it's killing the contacts. Have you thought about buying an older style Ford car or truck solenoid? They should be able to handle the draw better, be simple to wire up, and are dirt cheap.Bubba

Yep, did that. I put a 1976 f150 solonoid in twice. The first one was the one that came with the winch that they had recalls on. Is anyone else having this problem? I forgot to mention that it was the 2000# winch. If that makes a difference? I wouldnt mind but, the winch is only used for about an hour every now and then . Thanks for the input bubba.
