If there is too much play in the cable, it will cause problems

If the dealer found the valves out of adjustment, I am wondering if the cam lobes are worn. Any engine with worn cam lobes will start and idle fine, but will sputter and backfire as the throttle is applied. Ask the dealer if they road tested the machine.

I had a similar problem. My problem was that the unit would run fine up to half throtle and then it would start acting like the rev limiter was kicking in. I researched this for a month and a half. My problem was simple. After trouble shooting I found that I was missing the eight little rubber seat stops on the bottom of the seat that rests on the frame when the seat is latched inplace. Without the seat stops, when I sat down it caused the seat to bind and apply preasure to the air box causing the unit to spit and sputter. With the seat off and without appling preassure to the seat the unit ran like a champ. I have no idea how I lost my seat stops but I did. Check there first and let us know if this helps. Also, a buddy of mine was out ridding with me and this scrambler did the same thing. I raised the seat and he was missing 3 of the stops.

Good luck.
