I removed the oil injection from my '99 Scrambler 400 because I don't trust them. I had a jetski burn up because of a malfunctioning oil injection pump. I was able to modify the throttle cable to compensate for the lack of an oil pump return spring but for a long term solution I would like to get rid of that "Y" connector and go with a single cable. Does anyone know if the throttle cable from the 4 stroke Scrambler 500 will work with the 2 stroke 400 without oil injection? I'd bet the thumb throttle end is the same but do the two engines use the same carb or at least the same connector type?

 

Not sure about that cable, but HPD offers a single cable. I think they have one for the stock unit, as well as one for their billet unit.
