Service Manual
#1
Can anyone tell me if they have a Service Manual for a 2003 Sportman 500. I have contacted two different dealers and neither one has called me back as they stated they would. One told me that he didn't think that they made one yet (which is very likely), and the other one told me that Polaris was making the dealers go to a Web site for service and parts manuals. Does anyone have one yet and how can I get one. Also what did it cost you.
Thanks in advance.

Hey-
I got the service manual for my 02 700 from www.repairmanual.com and had it in 3 days. My dealer had it "ordered" and I gave them a month, never came in.
Good luck.

Yes, I can't believe the trouble it is just to get some answers on a service manual for a Polaris. I have called a total of 6 dealers and each one has taken my information and told me they will get back with me. I'm new to the Polaris line and I have read the Polaris forum for quite some time, and switched do to everyone saying how great their Polaris is. And I also thought It would be nice to have an American made machine. Now don't get me wrong here, I'm not bashing Polaris; but I hope It's as good of machine as everyone has said because If just getting an answer on whether Polaris has a manual or not is this difficult Imagine trying to get parts. So far I only have one concern with the machine and I have really been enjoying it (never enough though).

I got the part# for the service manual through polaris and contact the dealer that I tried the first time with no call back. If you can imagine it as soon as I gave him the part# he said "its a service manual" and I told him yes. He did not have it but said it will be in mid of next week. Seems funny he can't find it in over a week and as soon as I do his leg work his computer has it all of the sudden. Oh well. I appreciate the response on manual.com and they have one. I'm just still a little hesitant to order things over the computer yet. But If the dealer does not have it by end of next week, I will order it from manual.com.

No, I haven't tried partsland yet but I may have to give them a try in the future. That was actually going through a local dealer. He told me he would order one for me over the phone and he would have one for stock if I didn't show up to get it. Apparently they have alot of people not showing up for things after they order and they usually make you pay something in advance.

500DUSE-
Maybe you could post a link to the service manual at partsland? I can't find it. I had much better luck from www.repairmanual.com (couple days vs. a month then cancelled from dealer).
Thanks,
