Polaris TrailBlazer 2002 Brakes
#1
hey guys got a quick question. I broke the cheaply made hand brake on my trailblazer and need to replace the whole master assembly. But the question that I have is how do I adjust the back brakes. I have messed around and messed around trying to bleed the back brakes, there is no air in the line but when I use the front brake the front tires grab real good and then the backs start to slow down. If I use the back brake pedal there is hardly anything there. What is the best way to tighten up the back brakes.
Thanks

Try this:It is possible to lock the rear wheels with the foot brake.I bled mine last nite and went for a spin and I've done it before.Great for sliding around corners etc. But for some reason the rears need bled way too often to do this.Open the valve[the lower bleeder valve on the rear caliper],pump the pedal a few times with the valve open, depress the pedal again and hold down while shutting the bleeder valve.Make sure your res. is full before you start.I've had to do this a couple times but it is worth it to have good REAR BRAKES

I don't know about the 2002 models but my 99-00 service manual says
that the rear brakes are not designed to lock-up. But yes they can lock-up.
As far as I know there is not any adjustment for the rear brake.
If you want more control from the rear brake you can buy a split brake kit
from Hotseat Performance about $145.00 dollars.
