Maybe some holes could be drilled into them to allow some of the mud and debris to fall through but still offer some stick protection?

 

So which ones are the best to buy Metal or Plastic? The cost is about the same so is the protection the same? And would a Plastic skid plate from Polaris be good protection or the Metal one. Can someone answer the Million Dollar Question???
