Default 700 Performance Questions

Hello, I am a new member. About two years ago,I had a 500 Sportsman, For a very short time, And, as I remember, I was satisfied with performance, i.e. speed, power, etc. I read in the Latest ATV magazine, The comparison of the 650 class, That the 700 Sportsman Had the slowest top speed of the bunch. And the acceleration was not so good either. I was thinking about getting one, and now am unsure. Could any of you owners give me your opinions on yours? The other I am considering is the Honda 650 Rincon, But I really Like the looks of the Polaris much better. I will mostly Trail ride Thanks

Hello JNX I have a 700 and love it.You have to look at the 700 as a workhorse that alot of fun to trail ride. And yes they are a little slower on the top end.You can put a clutch kit on one and run as fast as any one of the big bores..Ive had guys on rincon and grizz ask me to race I always say yes but after we race I want to hook them up back to back and pull them I havent had one taker yet.

Hi Bill, Thanks for the info.I live across the River in Illinois, and will be riding mostly in ST JOE. Do you ride there? If so how will the 700 do there? Should I consider the 600? or even 500? Also where did you buy yours and at what price? Thanks JNX

I thought so. They had customer who wanted a 03 w/ the camo plastic and they did'nt have one. They got one from another dealer, but they also had to take two of his 02's that he had'nt sold. They priced them at that to get em out the door. I looked and looked, and found no better deal. Yeah, its not an 03, but greasable suspension and around $1000 off made it well worth it to me. Heck, i've seen USED 02's sell for that....
