Tiny Tach??
I've got the Cabelas Tiny Tach installed on my Predator, and another one waiting for the Z. It works great near as I can tell. As stated you can't see it very well when ripping along at WOT (hanging on too tight! LOL) and it doesn't respond quickly enough to use when racing. It is great for remembering service intervals, and idle and cruising it works great too. I have seen it reading about 7900 rpm before, and I'm confident it will read higher yet, I just haven't noticed it with the throttle pinned. For 40 bucks I think it is well worth it, unless you really want something for racing/quick response purposes.

Tiny Tach??
4-stroke, a predator. Just a side note, this weekend I tried my hardest to read the tach when I was tached out rpm-wise. I am fairly confident that the Tiny tach is not accurate above a certain point, maybe 7000 or so, cause I was revved all the way out in 2nd gear and the tach was reading like 6900 rpm. The funny thing was it read 7600 for about half a second then went back down to 6900, but the engine rpms hadn't changed. I am 99% sure that I am on the rev limiter (have been trying for a while to figure out from people's descriptions what it should feel like) so the tach was reading about 2000 rpms short. By the way, people made it seem like hitting the rev limiter was pretty dramatic, but I wouldn't describe it as "falling on its face". It mostly just stops pulling anymore and stays at one point. Just my 2 cents.

If anyone wants a good analog tach. cheap, then get a Sunpro at Auto Zone. It is very simple to hook up and very accurate. It is a little over 2" and Is very easy to hook up. You have to waterproof it where the wires go in, but it is no big deal, just squirt some clear sealant in there and you are good to go. I don't have any pics as of yet, but Bubba297 has the same one on his in his pics. Anyway, just another option.

NCScrambler, how did you hook up a 4 cylinder (4,6,8) tach to a single cylinder bike? Just wondering cause I heard it could be done, but no one at autozone knew how to do it, or even if it could be done.
I've had my Pure Polaris Tach reading 8600 crossing a lake this winter, I know I wasn't at the rev limiter, but you could feel it kick in every time I cought some air and the back end came up! It didn't read fast enough to tell me how high I hit, but seem very accurate to me, if the bike tops at 9000 that is!

Ok I need to say first that this tach WILL ONLY WORK ON A SINGLE CYLINDER 2-CYCLE ENGINE. Ok, set the switch to 4 cylinder. Put black wire to ground, Red wire to the ignition on, White wire to the lights, Green wire to the yellow wire with the red stripe coming from the stator. It is very simple and I have to give credit to Bubba for telling me about this. That is it except for sealing around the openings and the face. It works exceptionally well. As for why it works on the Polaris's since they are just single cylinder, I have no clue.

Don't let the hp numbers fool you. Its all in how you get it to the ground. Clutching clutching clutching!
